Blogger and DIY crafter Jennifer Perkins is no stranger to styling her home with a collection of unique tchotchkes and vintage finds; her first house tour showed off her love of mid-century modern kitsch and DIY style. She's back with a new house, this time showing off a home full of fun Halloween decor ideas. The best part of how Jennifer decorates for Halloween is that she jumps in full blast — all the public areas of her home sport a festive seasonal vibe, but it doesn't feel like you're walking into a cheap Halloween decor store. She's found ways to incorporate the holiday into her everyday decor and make it match her own unique (and awesome!) personality. We'll be revealing her Halloween house tour on the big day later this month, but in the meantime we wanted to share some cute and festive Halloween decoration ideas we spotted in her fun house so you'd have time to steal some of the inspiration for your own home!1. Greet guests right at the door (shown above)
Consider the presentation of your home when guests arrive to your spooky abode; treat them to a Halloween-themed entryway consisting of fun curtains made of Halloween fabric. Jennifer had her talented mom make these, but you could easily just use pre-made curtains in the right colors/patterns or just make your own! Add yard decorations like Jennifer did to complete the look. Jennifer also added skeleton flamingos along the walkway, but you could use DIY Halloween lanterns or anything that you want.

2. Spooky seating
Use Halloween fabric to make cute spooky themed throw pillows to instantly scare up your seating. Jennifer found this Halloween fabric for pillows on My Paper Crane.

3. Mix in live plants
Don't just use pumpkins as jack-o-lanterns! Fill one (or a few) with your favorite succulents for a fall-themed centerpiece that adds a lovely touch to your tabletops and makes Halloween decor feel integrated in your home.

4. DIY a spooky swarm
Cut out bat shapes from black paper and tape up a scary swarm leading the way in a hallway. Works best with a light-colored wall, but add light-colored paper bats to a dark wall for a similarly spooky contrast!

5. Create a jack-o-lantern tree
Dig through your closets or comb through vintage stores or Craigslist for those old-fashioned plastic pumpkin buckets trick-or-treaters have traditionally used. Hang them in your favorite tree for a decorated front or backyard!

6. Don't forget about subtle and surprising spots
Purchase Halloween-themed vinyl decals for adding subtle but spooky details to your home's cabinetry. Great for renters!
7. Hunt for vintage Halloween-themed games and toys
All home decor doesn't have to be newly made items; be on the lookout for Halloween-themed vintage items like games or toys that you can sprinkle throughout your existing shelves and vignettes to add a touch of Halloween throughout the home.

8. DIY spooky and silly family portraits
Make it a family affair with fun family portraits of each member being silly with Halloween make-up or props to be framed and displayed.

9. Use Halloween trees in nooks and corners
Pull out your mini Christmas trees early and give them a Halloween makeover!

10. DIY creepy "mice" to scamper around your walls
Grab the scissors again, this time for making black paper cutouts for those who look a little lower! Draw or download mouse and mouse hole shape templates and cut out of black (or any color!) paper to tape down below along your baseboards or floor. It'll create a spooky scampering mouse effect that might just fool a guest on first glance! Martha Stewart has some templates you can use.
